RWDSU STATEMENT ON PRESIDENT TRUMP’S EXECUTIVE ORDER STRIPPING FEDERAL WORKERS OF THEIR RIGHT TO COLLECTIVE BARGAINING
(NEW YORK, NY) - Last night, President Donald Trump issued an executive order which stripped more than 75% of all federal workers of their collective bargaining rights. In response, Stuart Appelbaum, President of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU), released the following statement:
“The RWDSU condemns the Trump administration’s effort to deny federal workers their rights to bargain collectively. These workers provide important benefits and services to all Americans; they need to be treated with dignity and respect – and that includes being able to have a collective voice about their working conditions and concerns. We strongly oppose President Trump’s blatant union busting and we call on everyone to stand with federal workers. Even though the Trump administration is coming for federal workers today, all workers are under threat by these actions – and we will not remain silent.”
