As the holiday shopping season gets underway, the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU), issued the following statement urging workers be treated with dignity and respect from in-store shopping to e-commerce warehousing, from farm to table and everything in between.
Today, New York City Mayor Eric Adams welcomed Amazon to New York City at the ribbon cutting of their new flagship offices, stating the company is “delivering good jobs to New Yorkers.” Stuart Appelbaum, President of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) issued the following statement in response: “Amazon is not delivering good jobs for New Yorkers – period.”
Jennifer Bates, the lead worker spokeswoman of the Bessemer, Alabama Amazon union drive, received notice she had been reinstated by the company after filing an Unfair Labor Practice charge against the company. In early June, she had received notice she had been terminated after enduring a several months long workers compensation nightmare…
