Today, workers at She Wolf Bakery filed for their union election with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) seeking representation with the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU). The filing came just after a delegation of workers at the Greenpoint, Brooklyn bakery marched on the boss to share with management that a majority of workers had signed RWDSU authorization cards. Workers have asked She Wolf Bakery to voluntarily recognize the union so that contract negotiations can commence swiftly. She Wolf Bakery workers have been organizing in conjunction with Brandworkers and the RWDSU around their shared issues in the workplace.
During the final days of holiday shopping rush, workers at Barnes & Noble who are represented by the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) stopped work and walked off the job to protest the company’s failure to return on economic portions of the contract amid their highest sales season. Workers joined by fellow union members and community members in support of their walk-out are demanding the company bargain in good faith…
Today, unionized REI workers with the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU), and the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW) filed coordinated, nationwide unfair labor practice charges against their employer, Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI), over the company’s bad faith bargaining practices and unilateral workplace changes that show a pattern of egregious anti-union behavior, emotional manipulation, and retaliatory actions against workers, such as firings, changes to work schedules, and disciplinary practices. Workers from all eight unionized REI locations filed charges with their regional National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) offices.
