RWDSU members, stewards and union representatives of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union convened in Huntington, West Viriginia, for the union’s Six-State Conference. Due to the pandemic and 2022 RWDSU convention, this was the first edition of this meeting since 2019, and it brought with it a sea of new faces eager to learn how to better represent members and strengthen the RWDSU.

Today, New York City Mayor Eric Adams welcomed Amazon to New York City at the ribbon cutting of their new flagship offices, stating the company is “delivering good jobs to New Yorkers.” Stuart Appelbaum, President of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) issued the following statement in response: “Amazon is not delivering good jobs for New Yorkers – period.”
“The RWDSU joins Governor Kathy Hochul in calling for federal assistance so we can better support migrant workers arriving here in New York. United, we are calling for federal work authorization, federal financial assistance and for the use of federal lands and facilities for sheltering migrants who need our help," said Stuart Appelbaum, President of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU).
